Dixie E. Thweatt
Dixie E. Thweatt, 77, of Paducah died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at 10:05 a.m. at her residence.
Dixie was a member of Clements Street Church of Christ. She was a former den mother of Cub Scouts, and enjoyed traveling with her husband on their Gold Wing Bikes. Dixie was a member of the American Gold Wing Association and the Gold Wing Road Riders. Dixie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving of 61 years are her husband, James W. Thweatt; one daughter, Vivian Kay Thweatt of Panama City, Fla.; three sons, Mike Thweatt, Chris Thweatt and Danny (Sue) Thweatt, all of Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Peggy (Donnie) Filbeck of Benton, Ky.; two brothers, Gerald (Pam) Chambers of Benton, Ky., and James (Karen) Chambers of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Janice Champy Higgs, Rodney Champy and Austin Thweatt; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Champy and Audrey Langston; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were parents, James Thomas and Virginia Louise Henson Chambers; one grandson, Jason Robert Thweatt, and one sister, Martha Lyles.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Wayne Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Sharpe Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Chambers, Scott Chambers, Brad Chambers, Chase Chambers, Greg Lyles and Kent Filbeck.
