Robert J. Wurth, 85, of Paducah passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 8:58 p.m. at Lourdes hospital.
He was a resident of Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Robert was born in Paducah, October 23, 1927, to Albert and Rosa Wurth. He graduated from Notre Dame University and retired from Michelson Jewelers after serving over twenty years as bookkeeper. He was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church where he served on the church Finance Committee. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, reading and watching sports. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame Football and University of Kentucky Basketball.
He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Gilbert of Fort Benton, Mont., and Mary Blackford of Concord, N.H.; several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Phillip and Rosa Neihoff Wurth; his sisters, Mary A. Doherty and Rita T. Wurth, and one brother.
Visitation for Robert J. Wurth will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with prayers at 5 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be conducted Thursday, March 21, 2013, at noon at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Fr. Brian Roby will officiate.
