BENTON — Albert Dowdy Jr., 88, of Ohio, formerly of Benton, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Ohio.

Mr. Dowdy was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Evendale Church of Christ and a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by one daughter, Sherry June Wright of Mason, Ohio; one sister, Pauline Shepeard of Benton; and one grandson, Michael Wright Jr., of Cincinnati.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Inelle Elizabeth Ross Dowdy. His parents were Albert Dowdy Sr. and Willie Mae Edwards Dowdy.

Services will be at noon Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Collier Funeral Chapel with Lexie B. Ray officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Marshall County Memory Gardens.
