MURRAY — R.B. Barton Jr., 78, of Murray died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at his home.

He was a retired professor of business management at Murray State University, a retired Church of Christ minister, a member of Glendale Road Church of Christ, and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Lentz Barton; one daughter, Britannie Barton Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tenn.; one son, Reagan Brooks Barton of Murray, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. His parents were Rufus Biggs and Lee Etta Reese Barton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Glendale Road Church of Christ. John Dale will officiate, with burial in Murray Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the church.
