SIMPSON, Ill. — Katherine A. Webb, 90, of Simpson died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at her home.
She was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a dietitian. She taught at Pope County High School and was a University of Illinois Home Extension adviser for Pope and Hardin counties. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Golconda.
She is survived by one daughter, Dana Durfee of Mill Valley, Calif.; two sons, Richard Webb and Grover Webb, both of Simpson; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Letha Bush, Casper, Wyo., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Webb; one son, James Webb; two sisters, and three brothers. Her parents were Hobart and Dora (Slenz) Jones.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Golconda with the Rev. Tyler Holt officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in Middle Fork Cemetery in Ewing at a later date.
