FULTON — John McAlister, 76, of Fulton died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, served in the National Guard, had worked as a switchman for Illinois Central Railroad, and was also a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie Williams McAlister; one son, Steve Ericksen of Loudon, Tenn.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Jetty Humphrey of Fulton; three brothers, Duward McAlister of Fulton, Ronald McAlister of Paducah, and Robert McAlister of Dyersburg, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. His parents were Byron and Genevieve (Byrn) McAlister. two
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with burial to follow in Wesley Cemetery in Hickman County.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the funeral home.
