Dorothy Mae Pottinger, 91, of Paducah passed away at 11:44 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013, at McCracken Nursing and Rehab after a brief illness.
She was born February, 9, 1922, in Charleston, Missouri, to parents John Marion Lee and Delia Mae Sitzes Lee.
On September, 28, 1943, she married her husband of 69 years, Hardy J. Pottinger II, in Visalia, California. She was a mother, a homemaker, an artist, and she enjoyed sewing and crafts. She was of the Catholic faith and loved to travel.
She is survived by her husband, Hardy J. Pottinger II; her two daughters, Dorothy Truitt of Paducah and Mary Ann Richards and husband Larry of Fairview, Tenn.; three sons, Dr. Hardy Pottinger III and wife Judy of Rolla Mo., Jan Pottinger and wife Linda of O’Fallon, Mo., and Barry Pottinger and wife Trisha of Westchester, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Hardy Joe Pottinger IV, Anastacia Pottinger, Wade Pottinger, John Truitt, Doug Truitt, Mary Truitt, Jalin Pottinger, Ben Pottinger, Nancy Pottinger, Amanda Troyer, Dr. Jason Cassibry and Andy Cassibry; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Marion and Delia Mae Sitzes Lee; and her two brothers, Charles Lee and Harold Lee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pottinger will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with John Truitt officiating.
Visitation for Mrs. Pottinger will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the funeral home.
