Wayne Parker, 80, of Paducah, Kentucky, died on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Mr. Parker was of the Baptist faith.

He was a retired painting contractor, a Kentucky Colonel and past president and member of the Associated General Contractors. Mr. Parker loved UK basketball and some of his favorite times were spent fishing in Canada with Glendon Minter and friends.

Born Monday, December 5, 1932, in Benton, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ted Parker and the late Helen York Parker.

Surviving are his wife, Judy (Burger) Parker of Paducah, Ky.; his children, Connie Godkin of Versailles, Ky., JoAnn Gamble, husband James “Bub” of Versailles, Ky., and Jan Bragg, husband Terry of Benton, Ky., who are the daughters of Anna Parker of Brewers, Ky.; and his stepchildren, Ty Burger of Hardin, Ky., Lisa Burger of Paducah, Ky., and Jo Amber Barnes of Reidland, Ky.

Also surviving are his grandchildren, David Gish of Vietnam, Patrick Godkin of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Dylan Bragg of Benton, Ky., Brooklyn Gamble of Lexington, Ky.; and stepgrandchildren, Stephen Burger of Murray, Ky., Matthew Barnes of Reidland, Ky., Alli Burger of Hardin, Ky., and Tyler Burger of Benton, Ky.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at New Zion Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Wallace officiating. Interment will follow.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the Collier Funeral Home.
