METROPOLIS, Ill.  — Boyd Bormann, 66, of Metropolis, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah,  in Paducah, Kentucky.

Boyd was born August 2, 1946, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Abraham and Doris (Hillebrand) Bormann. Mr. Bormann worked at EEI for 20 years and the National Guard for 6 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis. He was a cowboy and enjoyed rodeoing. He married Martha (Taylor) on August 4, 1972, and together they shared over 40 years of marriage.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Martha Bormann of Metropolis, Ill.; his mother, Doris Wallace of Metropolis, Ill.; his son, Tyson (Kara) Bormann of Metropolis, Ill.; his daughter, Abbey (Chad) Kaylor of Metropolis, Ill.; his brother, Gary (Deborah) Bormann of Ayre, Mass.; his sister, Kathleen (Bill) Trovillion of Kevil, Ky.; two half-brothers, Patrick Wallace of Metropolis, Ill., and Russ Wallace of Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren, Sophie May Bormann, Grady Lee Bormann, Bailey Lynn Bormann and Sadie Rose Kaylor.

He was preceded in death by his father; his sister, Barbara Jones; and his nephew, Detrick Bormann.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Metropolis, Ill. Pastor Jeff Bealmear and Pastor Jon Cockrel will be conducting the service. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
