Services for Oliver “Sam” Cobb, 82, of Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Vinson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Cobb died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Cobb was a member of Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church, where he had served on the usher board.
He was a graduate of West Kentucky Vocational School, where he earned certification in barbering.
He is survived by three sons, Ray Silvera Cobb of Jacksonville, Fla., Lamel Luter of Los Angeles and Terry Sutton of Louisville; one daughter, Olivia Kay Moore of Paducah; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Don Glenn of Fairfield, Calif.; one sister, Lettie Lee Cobb McCorry of Paducah; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Callie Mae Cobb; one sister, and two brothers. His parents were A.A. Cobb and Inez Alexander Cobb.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, and after 10 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013.
