BENTON — James R. Wyatt, 75, of Benton died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at his home.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he was an operator for Kentucky Lock & Dam.

Mr. Wyatt is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Ross Wyatt; one son, Mark Stephen Wyatt of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Melissa Jean Evans of Benton; two brothers, Bill Wyatt of Stanton, Mich., and Gene Wyatt of Newberg, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Wyatt; four brothers; and one sister. His parents were George Jackson Wyatt and Edra Pearl Edgel Wyatt.

Services will be noon Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Collier Funeral Chapel with Gary Byers and Gene Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in Marshall County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today, Feb. 25, 2013, at the funeral home.
