METROPOLIS, Ill. — Van McClendon, 50, of Metropolis died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. McClendon was a factory worker in Shasta Lake, Calif., and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one brother, Lewell McClendon Jr. of Shasta Lake, and one aunt, Betty Jo Dover of Karnak.

His parents were Lewell McClendon Sr. and Patsy Dungey Puperi.

Memorial services will be conducted later in Shasta Lake, Calif.

There will be no local services. Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of arrangements.
