KARNAK, Ill. — Mrs. Opal Basham Douglas, 90, of Karnak, Ill., passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 3:15 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mrs. Basham was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Karnak and a life-long homemaker, always putting her family first. Opal was united in marriage to Clyde Douglas Sr. on July 11, 1938.

Mrs. Douglas is survived by two sons, Clyde Lee Douglas Jr. and wife Bonnie of Pendleton, Ore., and Roger Dale Douglas of Karnak; one granddaughter, Julie Birrer and husband Brannon of Lake Tapps, Wash.; one granddaughter-in-law, Cindy Douglas of Boone, N.C.; three great-grandsons, Tyson and Thane Birrer and Mitchell Douglas; three great-granddaughters, Taryn and Tori Birrer and Samantha Douglas; one brother, Harold Basham of Mounds; one brother-in-law, Wayne and wife Darlene Douglas of Anna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Basham was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Douglas Sr.; her parents, David and Eva Basham; one brother, Aaron Basham; and one grandson, Jeff Douglas.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 11, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with the Rev. Lonny Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Cemetery in Boaz.

Visitation will be held Monday morning at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.
