Viola Ann Powell, 58, of Paducah died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at her home.

She was a retired operator of the 6th Street Bargain Store and a member of Central Church of Christ of Paducah.

She is survived by her husband, Herschel E. Powell; four sons; one stepson, Harold Powell of Paducah; three daughters; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Newton of Paducah; two brothers, Alfred Silkey and John Silkey, both of Dallas; two sisters, Loretta White and Patricia Morrison, both of Dallas; five stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Loffa May (Rogers) Silkey; and several brothers; and sisters.

There will be no service or visitation. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
