BENTON — Loretta A. Thompson, 70, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at her home.
She was a retired bus driver for the Marshall County School System. She was a member of the Vanzora Baptist Church and loved to do mission work.
She is survived by her children, Karon Holley and husband Lendell of Benton, Ky.; Mayrene Fox and husband Ronnie of Eddyville, Ky.; Thomas Thompson and wife Shannon of Benton, Ky.; Luann Willie and husband Brett of Mayfield, Ky.; and Orvel Thompson and wife Heather of Grand Rivers, Ky.; brother, Gary Cole of Greensboro, N.C.; sister Mary Lue Cole of Lone Oak, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, Kara Hamby, Aaron Holley, Hannah Fox, Paige Story, Shane Story, Cali Ann Thompson, Tiffani Stamper, Lauren Bouland, Austin Thompson and Chase Thompson; and five great-grandchildren, Lily Hamby, Lia Hamby, Shayden Stallins, Camron Bouland and Cayson Stamper.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Earlie Green Thompson; one sister, Alva Lou Cole; one brother, Gerald Cole, and her parents were Orvey Cole and Lorene Thomasson Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Bro. Terry Mathis and Bro. Shannon Benefiel will officiate and burial will follow in the Shemwell Cemetery.
