CADIZ — Memorial services for Ferrell Schmeing, 84, of Cadiz will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz with the Rev. Norman Cotton officiating.

Mr. Schmeing died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was a retired switchman for the L&N Railroad in Evansville and was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by five sons, Douglas Schmeing, Larry Schmeing and Raymond J. Angel, all of Evansville, Donald W. Angel of Newburgh, Ind., and Gregory A. Angel of Cadiz; six daughters, Sally Townsend, Teresa Schmitt, Lisa Fitzgerald and Marinell Burns, all of Evansville, and Terri Morrow Angel and Teresa Fowler, both of Cadiz; 26 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Lee Smallwood Schmeing; and two sons, Michael A. Schmeing and DeWayne Angel. His parents were Gustave J. “Gus” Schmeing and Marie Nichols Schmeing.
