MAYFIELD — David Allen Fowler, 59, of Mayfield died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.

Mr. Fowler was a 1971 graduate of Mayfield High School and attended Memphis State University on a football scholarship. He played professional football for the Jacksonville Express of the former World Football League before joining the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills of the National Football League.

He is survived by a son, Adam Fowler of Shelbyville; a daughter, Samantha Castillo; four grandchildren; two brothers, John Fowler of Nashville, Tenn., and Brett Fowler of Jacksonville, Fla.; one nephew and one niece.

He was preceded in death by a sister. His parents were Rowland and Joyce Fowler.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at His House Ministries, 1250 Ky. 303, Cuba Road, in Mayfield.

Expressions of sympathy may be in the form of donations to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
