MAYFIELD — Gene Truman Mangrum, 71, formerly of Mayfield, died at 6:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville, Ky.
He was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Mayfield and was a member of Mercer Baptist Church in Greenville. He was a local business owner of Mangrum Roofing and later General Roofing and Construction in Mayfield.
Mr. Mangrum is survived by two sons, Keith Truman (Beth) Mangrum of Puryear, Tenn., and Stephen Wayne Mangrum of Owensboro; two brothers, Cecil (Mary) Mangrum of Greenville and Terry (Linda) Mangrum of Benton; one sister, Shelia (Freddie) Lee of Wingo; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gene Truman Mangrum Jr.; one sister, Delores Allen; and his parents, Raymond and Lavada Mangrum; and two nephews.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. Fred Harrison officiating, assisted by the Rev. Brent Lee.
Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Mangrum, Jeff Mangrum, Corey Cecil, Mike English, Lamar Aimerson, and Jeremy Dukes.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield.
