MAYFIELD — William “Bill” Hale Jr., 82, of Mayfield died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at his home.

He was a member of First Christian Church, and worked as a men’s apparel sales representative more than 50 years. He was a sales executive for Merit Clothing Company, as well as road salesman for other apparel firms. He had served as president, vice president and national director of the Mayfield Jaycees.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Hale; two sons, William Hale III of Nicholasville and Michael Hale of Newark, Del.; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four sisters. His parents were William Coleman Hale Sr. and Maude D. Moore Hale.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Randy Cook officiating. Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call after noon Saturday at the funeral home.
