CALVERT CITY — Leonard Clifton McLaughlin went home to be with Jesus, Monday, January 14, 2013.
He was an elder and faithful servant of Christian Fellowship Church, and school. He was always willing to help the poor, the missionaries, and anyone who needed him. Even the church sanctuary shows his handiwork. He will be missed by all.
He served in the Army Air Corps, in the occupation forces of Japan.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Gilland) McLaughlin of Calvert City, Ky.; daughter, Connie McKendree and husband Mark of Benton, Ky.; stepdaughters, Mary Ginna Gresham and husband Gary of Paducah, Ky., Suzanne Murphy and husband Mike of Memphis, Tenn.; stepson, Bobby Clark and wife Janet of Lone Oak, Ky.; brother, Jim McLaughlin and wife Wilma of Jonesboro, Ark.; grandchildren, Nicole McKendree Riddle and husband Todd of Charlotte, N.C., Markea McKendree of Benton, Ky., and Kayla Peck of Benton, Ky.; stepgrandchildren, Ian Gresham and Emma Gresham, both of Paducah, Ky., Jason Staggers of Lexington, Ky., Cherie Martin of Memphis, Tenn., Amy Lloyd of Paducah, Ky., Joe Clark of Charlotte, N.C.; two great-grandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys McLaughlin; his parents, David McLaughlin and Bertha (Culp) McLaughlin; daughter, Vickie Peck; and sister, Francis McNett.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, Dr. J.T. Parish and Rev. Richie Clendenen officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton, Ky.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Collier Funeral Home.
