MORTON, Ill. — Clara Virginia Dixon, age 88, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, at Morton Terrace Nursing Home in Morton, Ill.

Clara was born in Madison County, Ill., on October 17, 1924, to Charles F. and Etta Mae (Flick) Kaiser.

She married Marion Harold Dixon on March 2, 1945, in Golconda, Ill. Clara was a homemaker, raised four children, and attended Grace Evangelical Mennonite Church in Morton, Ill. She was an animal and music lover. Clara had resided with her son Mark in East Peoria since 2000.

She is survived by three sons, Daniel (Elena) of Goodyear, Ariz., Deral (Susan) of Creve Coeur, Ill., and Mark (Sharon) of East Peoria, Ill.; brother-in-law, Wilbur Dixon of Golconda, Ill.; three cousins, Doris Robbs, Melba Boston and Kenneth Flick; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Marion in 1979; her daughter, Linda Sue Dixon in 2007; her brother, Charles Kaiser in 2010; and her sister, Yetta Mae Duncan in 2006.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Aly Funeral Home in Golconda, Ill., with Rev. Lee Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Waltersburg Cemetery in Golconda, Ill. The visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2013, from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
