CADIZ — Services for Frank Johnson, 77, of Cadiz will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Wells officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans’ Cemetery West in Hopkinsville with military graveside rites.

Mr. Johnson died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Army and then worked for the Civil Service. He was a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Johnson; two sons, Frank “Sonny” Johnson of Burlington and Jason Johnson of Perugia, Italy; three daughters, Sheena Johnson of Honolulu, Hawaii, Athena Sivongsa of Hampton, Va., and Roseleen Root of Louisville; five brothers, Dale Johnson of Cincinnati, Glenn Johnson of Dayton, Ohio, Donnie Garner of Alliance, Ohio, Bobby Garner of Dayton, Ohio, and Billy Garner of Blanchester, Ohio; one sister, Sharon Kaye Elkins of Petersburg, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

His parents were Jack and Mattie Lou Dotson Johnson.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
