BOWLING GREEN — James Edward Kirkwood, 80, of Bowling Green, formerly of Mayfield, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mayfield and a retired systems analyst for Enro Shirt Company of Louisville.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Archer Kirkwood; two sons, Jon Kirkwood of St. Leonard, Md., and Trace Kirkwood of Bowling Green; two daughters, Robin Archer of Louisville, and Mary Layton of Shelbyville; one brother, Charles Kirkwood of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His parents were Lorenzo and Mary Erwin Kirkwood.

Graveside memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Highland Park Cemetery with Rev. Joe Hansen officiating.

Friends may call after noon Sunday at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.
