VIENNA, Ill. — G.W. Ming, 72, of Vienna, and formerly of the Cypress community, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was a 25-year member of New Columbia Masonic Lodge # 336 AF&AM, former employee of J.W. Reynolds Monument Co. and later worked for Shawnee Development Council.

He is survived by his wife, Debra “Debbie” (Nichols) Ming; four children, Tom Ming, Teresa Ming, Travis Ming, and Troy Ming, all of Santa Paula, Calif.; one stepson, Chad Nalley of the Big Bay community; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Crowe of Vienna and Barbara Brewer of Bokoshe, Okla.; and two brothers, John Ming of Cypress and Steve Ming of Stockton, Calif.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, and two sisters. His parents were Zell Ming and Lillian Faye (Adams) Morris-Ming.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Rev. Tom Loyd officiating.

Burial will be in Cypress Masonic Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be at 8 p.m. Friday.
