METROPOLIS, Ill. — William Ray Hite, 52, of Metropolis, Ill., formerly of Kankakee, Ill., passed away at 11:19 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will held at Brookport Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012, with the Rev. David Siere officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Kevil.

William was a former Union ironworker and served in the U.S. Army during peace time.

William is survived by his wife, Sheri Hite; two sons, Billy Hite and wife Whitney and Randy Hite and wife Tonia; two grandchildren, Axl and Leland Hite; two unborn grandchildren; one sister, Pamela Slootweg and husband Ronald; one brother, James Hite and wife Patti; one niece, Ashley Hall; and two nephews, Chris and Bobby Hite.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack James and Virgiey Mae (Curley) Hite.

Friends may call at Brookport Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012.
