METROPOLIS, Ill. — Howard Laverne Schneider, 89, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 2:10 a.m. December 25, 2012, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Lunsford officiating.
Howard was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Word of Life Tabernacle, and The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 640 in Metropolis, Ill.
Howard is survived by his wife, Maxine (Windhorst) Schneider; two daughters, Teresa Mansfield and husband David and Denise Dunker and husband Greg; three sons, Darrel Schneider and wife Billie, David Schneider, and Randy Schneider and wife Deena; seven grandchildren, Kerry Mansfield and wife Sara, Jessica Sills and husband Tyler, Wendie Schneider, Elizabeth Susane Schneider, Daniel Schneider, Joshua Schneider, Alicia Schneider; one great-granddaughter, Katherine Mansfield; one sister, Doris Reinhardt and husband Ed; one sister-in-law, Alma Schneider, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mamie (Carroll) Schneider; one sister, Donna Moorman; infant sister, Marion; two brothers, Robert and LaVelle Schneider.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
