James (Howard) Gough, formally of La Center, Ky., passed away December 6, 2012. Mr Gough was 86 years old.
The son of the late George and Blanche (Higdon) Gough, Howard was born October 9, 1926, in La Center, Ky.
He was married to Marie Butts for 63 years. She survives him plus three sons; one daughter; and four grandchildren.
Howard served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 22. In his early years, Howard worked the family farm. He was a member of Carpenter Union 706 and employed in carpentry most of his life. He was a member of Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Local nieces and nephews include Mary Dunn, Mary Bumpous, Shirley Marshall, Brenda Shankle and Gene Gough of Ballard County; and Lynn Gough of Bowling Green, Ky.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers; and one sister, Manuel, Leroy, Forest, Vittie, Ezra, Francis, Marnell, and infant brother Arthur Robert; and Mary Rose Peebles.
Funeral services were held December 10, 2012, in Michigan with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel officiating.
