SHARPE — Marilyn Hughes Reed, 59 years old, of Sharpe, died at 10:03 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Marshall County Hospital in Benton.

Mrs. Reed was a retired dispatcher for Marshall County 911. She was also a funeral director apprentice at Hughes Funeral Home where she was a co-owner. She was a member of Faith Apostolic Church in Calvert City. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and nana.

She is survived by her husband of forty years, Darrell Reed of Sharpe; two daughters, Cristal Reed Pierceall and husband Jamie of White House, Tenn., Chastity Reed Fraga and husband Jesse of Sharpe; four grandchildren, Caterena Hope Fraga, Raquel Grace Fraga, Jaylin Brooke Pierceall, Mariah Faith Fraga; mother, Mahaska Hughes Cooper; stepfather, Charles (Buddy) Cooper; three brothers, Jack (Randy) Hughes of Paducah, Rick Hughes of Paducah, Bobby Hughes of Sharpe; three sisters, Brenda Allcock of Reidland, Nancy Hughes of Reidland, Pam Russell of Ballard County; two stepbrothers; one stepsister; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, J.R. Hughes; and one brother, Larry Hughes.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Reed will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, at Hughes Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Conner and Bro. Bud Russell officiating.

Burial will follow the service Monday at Fooks Cemetery in Possum Trot.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the funeral home.
