GOLCONDA, Ill. — Robert “Bob” Beggs, 80, of Golconda died at 3:15 p.m. Friday at his home.

Mr. Beggs was a U.S. Navy veteran and had worked as a barber. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Widebeck of Dawson; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and one brother, William Beggs of Ullin.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. His parents were Dewey and Lucille Staton Beggs.

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with the Rev. Steve Heisner officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
