EDDYVILLE — Paxton D. Smith, 65, of Eddyville, died Sunday at his home.

He was a timber cutter and of the Baptist faith. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Edmonson Smith; two daughters, Penny Smith of Cadiz and Mary Smith of Princeton; three sisters, Shirley Osborne, Dona Embry, and Martha Riley, all of Ohio County; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother; and three sisters. His parents were James and Jeanette Brown Smith.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Saratoga Methodist Church Cemetery in Lyon County.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., in Cadiz
