BENTON — Woodrow “Woody” Ford, 92, of Grayville, Ill., died Thursday at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville.

Ford was a member of First Baptist Church in Grayville, a World War II Navy veteran, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He worked as an oilfield pumper in the Grayville area.

Survivors include a son, Tony Ford of Grayville; three daughters, JoAnn Lovett of Benton, Betty Bisch, and Miranda Groff, all of Grayville; one brother, Herman Ford of Marshall County; two sisters, Juanita West and Shirley Jackson, both of Marshall County; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Ford; his stepmother, Ruby; one great-grandson; four brothers; and two sisters. Her parents were George and Ethel (Barker) Ford.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton Cemetery. Visitation in Kentucky will begin at noon Monday at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory.
