SIKESTON, Mo. — Graveside services for James Curtis Hodges, 88, of Sikeston, formerly of Charleston, will be at 11 a.m. today at IOOF Cemetery with military rites.

Mr. Hodges, a semi-retired farmer in the Bardwell and Arlington, Ky., communities, died Monday at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was a former teacher in the Mississippi County School System and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He also farmed in Mississippi County and was a former member of the Focus Bank (First Security State Bank) Board of Directors.

Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Kathryn “Kay” Austin.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Ray Hodges. His parents were Thomas L. and Mona Alba Scoggins Hodges.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
