Lawrence C. Schumaker, 96, of Paducah died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday at Lourdes hospital.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a former Sunday school teacher. He was retired from Union Carbide.
He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn S. Carr of Arvada, Colo.; one son, Richard L. Schumaker of Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Dorothy Poat of Lone Oak; two grandchildren, Shane Denton of Colorado, and Leann Schumaker of Georgia; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Ruth Wilkins Schumaker; second wife, Maxine Beaton Schumaker; and one brother, Robert Schumaker. His parents were Elbert Clinton Schumaker and Dolly Pepper Schumaker.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Revs. Jim Calhoun and Kenny Locke officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
