HICKORY — Kenneth Earl Murphy, 88, of Hickory (formerly of Kansas City, Mo.), passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Murphy was a draftsman for the Bendix (Honeywell) Corporation, where he later retired as a supervisor after 50 plus years. He was a devout Christian who studied his Bible daily and served as a deacon for his church, Worldwide Church of God. He was always giving to everyone, whether in his supporting the widows or financially supporting the needs of underprivileged children. He was a music lover who loved airplanes and loved tinkering with all kind of gadgets.
He is survived by his daughter, JoAnna Schroer of Hickory, Ky.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Franklin and Herma Esther Murphy; one daughter, Kathe Yergert; two brothers, Jack Murphy and Don Murphy.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Rev.
