CADIZ — Don “Bear” Richardson, 76, of Cadiz died Sunday at his home.

He was retired from Auburn Hosiery Mill in Auburn. He was the owner and operator of Bear’s Lawn and Repair in Cadiz. He was an Army National Guard veteran, a member of the Auburn Rural Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, and of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Shirley Richardson; a son, Donald Cole “Rick” Richardson II of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Terry Laster of Murray; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Haskell Richardson, and mother, Martha Tate.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at King’s Funeral Home with the Revs. Tom Logan and Richard Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
