KEVIL — John Dudley Tucker, 90, went home to glory at 12:41 a.m. Monday, November 12 (Veteran’s Day) at Western Baptist Hospital. Dudley was born September 6, 1922 to John and Vinnie Rice Tucker. He grew up in the Ragland community. He resided in Kevil for 64 years with his wife, Bobbie. He cherished memories of the many friends he enjoyed in his 90 years of life. He retired from USEC after 25 years on the fire/emergency Squad. He was a member of Kevil United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of The Grand Lodge of Ky., F & A.M., and North Ballard Masonic Lodge No. 537 of Bandana.
He served his country in the United States Army and was a proud World War II Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Nell Tucker of Kevil; two daughters, Judy Overstreet and husband (Preston) of Wickliffe, and Gail Spears of Kevil; one sister, Louise Mosley of Moline, Ill.; and one sister-in-law, Robbie Tucker of Kevil. He is also survived by four grandsons, Alan Overstreet, Brian and Christy Overstreet, all of Wickliffe, and Josh and Jake Spears of Kevil; five great-grandchildren: Wyatt Overstreet of Wickliffe, Jade, Chance, and Emma Spears, and Jacob Spears, all of Kevil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vinnie Tucker; two brothers, Harvey L. and Jerry Tucker; two sisters, Marie Polley and Pauline Catterton; and a special aunt, Elizabeth Lanier.
Services for John Dudley Tucker will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel of Kevil with the Rev. Randy Stacy officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 13, from 5-8 p.m. at Kevil Funeral Chapel with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. There will also be visitation starting 9 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. Interment will follow in Woodville Cemetery in Kevil. Morrow Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
