MURRAY — John Wesley “J.W.” McCarty, 74, of Murray died Friday at his home.

He had been employed by Tappan Manufacturing Company and Fisher Price Inc. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two daughters, Mandee Flores of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Kelley Austin of St. Louis; one brother, Amos McCarty Jr. of Murray; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were Amos McCarty Sr. and Eulala Lassiter McCarty.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Austin officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
