Doris Copeland Steakley, 83 of Paducah, formerly of Bardwell, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Sunday at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mrs. Steakley was a member of Bardwell Baptist Church and a homemaker. She formerly worked at Deena Manufacturing in Arlington.

She is survived by one son, Ronny Steakley of Paducah; one grandson, Ben Steakley of Paducah; seven nieces, Marma Handley, Kay Sutton, Anna Haws, Debbie Copeland, Laura Stucky, Brenda Langley, and Judi Cook; and eight nephews, Jesse Copeland, Donald Copeland, Velton Copeland, Rickey Copeland, Anthony Copeland, Michael Copeland, David Copeland, and Eugene Bobo.

Mrs. Steakley was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Steakley; two sisters, Laverne Byassee and Dessie Donati; and one brother, Wilford Copeland; her parents were Jesse and Bessie Jackson Copeland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with the Rev. Skip Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
