BENTON — Harvey Thomas Culp, 84, of Benton died Saturday at Marshall County Hospital in Benton.

He was a member of Briensburg Missionary Baptist Church, Baptist Disaster relief team and Baptist Builders Association. He was a retired member of Palma-Briensburg Fire Department Board of Directors, retired as maintenance foreman for Airco Carbide in Calvert City, and was a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ross Culp; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Cunningham of Benton; two sons, Richard Culp and David Culp, both of Benton; three sisters, Carolyn Sturgis of Paducah, and Sue Wynn and Pat Defew, both of Benton; one brother, Charles Culp of Joliet, Ill.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister; his parents were Floyd and Arlene Fieldson Culp.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Briensburg Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Walker officiating. Burial will be at Provine Cemetery in Benton.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at Collier Funeral Home in Benton and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
