MAYFIELD — Ruth Helen Thompson, 81, of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Mayfield, died Sunday in Fort Wayne.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Brownlee of Fort Wayne and Mary Cooper of Indianapolis; four sons, Walter Thompson Jr. of Marion, Ind., David Thompson of Fort Wayne, James Thompson of St. Louis and Michael Thompson of Columbia City, Ind.; two sisters, Lennie Simmons and Mary Joiner, both of Mayfield; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Thompson; her second husband, Jan Dawson; two brothers; and one sister. Her parents were Charlie  and Mary Jackson.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Carmichael Funeral Services in Fort Wayne, with visitation after 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
