RAGLAND — Mary Lee Elder of the Ragland community was 71 years of age.
Our dear sweet Mary went home to be with her heavenly Father at 1:07 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2012. She is now reunited with her sweet daughter, Teresa Lynn. Mary was a beloved and devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her and most important, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is a devoted Christ follower. She loved to share her faith and testimony of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a blessing that was to anyone who heard her testimony.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, retired from Claussner’s Hosiery Mill and Paducah Shirt Factory, and was a homemaker.
She leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband, Joseph (Rudy) Elder; one stepson, Charles Elder; three grandchildren, Austin, Destiny and Summer Elder; three sisters, Eloise (Charles) Crowell of Symsonia, Linda Fuller and Barbara Jewell, both of Paducah; four brothers, David (Kathy) Burnett of Paducah, Lonnie (Hazel) Burnett of La Center, Bill Burnett of West Paducah, and Ralph Harlan Burnett of Ballard County. She leaves behind many, many friends whom she loved dearly and they loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lenora and Ralph Burnett; her sweet and beloved daughter, Teresa Lynn; her beloved sister, Dorothy Wattelet; and her beloved granddaughter, Charla L. Elder.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Faris Sahawneh and Rev. Don Garrison officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
