MURRAY — Charles A. Blanton, 58, of Murray died Oct. 5 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and served with the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his children, Taekwanda Walker, Shogunda Blanton and Aikido Blanton, all of Murray, and Chauncey Blanton of Kansas; his siblings, Jorine Kenley, Eugene Blanton, Mammie Foster and Lemuel Blanton, all of Murray, and Jenny Sue Belvet of Fayetteville, N.C.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers; his parents were Luther and Virginia Blanton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery.
Friends may call after noon Friday at the funeral home.
