MAYFIELD — Mr. James William “J.W.” Reynolds, 88, of West Memphis, Arkansas, formerly of Mayfield, died Saturday peacefully at his residence.

He was a retired supervisor for Curlee Clothing company and was a former member of Northside Church of Christ in Mayfield, Kentucky, where he was an Elder for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was a medical corpsman attached to the fifth Marine Division and lost his leg during the Battle of Iwo Jima. He has been a member of the Marion Church of Christ since 2001. Mr. Reynolds is survived by one daughter, Ardith Bradshaw of West Memphis, Ark.; one granddaughter, Lauren Bradshaw McCraken of Marion, Ark.; and one great-granddaughter, Julia Adams McCraken.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claydean Adams Reynolds.

Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2012, at Marion Church of Christ on Highway 64 from 5-7 p.m. Services will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky., at 2 p.m. with Mike Tucker and Richard Adams officiating the service. Interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Mayfield. Visitation will be Tuesday from Noon until the funeral hour.
