METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mrs. Louise L. Knapp, age 88, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 9:47 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Western Baptist Hospital.
Louise was retired from Deluxe Check Printers in Chicago, Ill. She was a member of the Powers United Methodist Church, Lilly of the Valley Eastern Star Lodge #85, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Louise is survived by three sons, Clayton R. Knapp and wife Donna of Iowa Park, Texas, Larry G. Knapp and wife Jeanne of Chicago, Ill., Randy K. Knapp of Metropolis, Ill.; three grandsons, Michael Knapp of Des Plaines, Ill., Daniel Knapp and wife Karla of Spokane, Wash., Jesse Knapp and wife Tessa of Libby, Mont.; four great-grandchildren, Robert Blake Knapp of Libby, Mont., Brylee Knapp of Libby, Mont., Landon Knapp of Spokane, Wash., Christopher Michael Knapp of Des Plaines, Ill.; three sisters, Helen Sherman of Phoenix, Ariz., Margaret Mitchell of Metropolis, Ill., Rosalie Miller of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Jack Mitchell and wife Peggy of Metropolis, Ill.; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mabel (Sielbeck) Mitchell; husband, Clifford W. Knapp; three brothers, Howard Mitchell, Jimmy Mitchell, Earl Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Alan Milligan will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, October 9, 2012 after 6 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Knapp, Jesse Knapp, Michael Knapp, Luke Mitchell, John Mitchell, and Matthew Mitchell.
