Billy R. Higgins, 78, of Paducah, passed away at 3:32 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Billy was a retired hospital worker in Miami, Fla., and a member of Southland Baptist Temple, where he served as an usher for many years.

Billy is survived by two aunts, Shirley Via of Paducah and Odessa DePriest Colantino of St. Louis, Mo.; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shonie Higgins and Ciltha DePriest Calone.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with Rev. Harold Council officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
