CADIZ — Myrt Hinson Atwood, 70, of Cadiz died Thursday at her home.

She was a member of Pugh Flat Baptist Church and its Ladies Outreach. She retired after 51 years as a beautician.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Atwood; one son, Barry Thurman of Cadiz; one daughter, Misty Barnes of Cadiz; one brother, Sam Hinson of Bowling Green; two stepsons, Jason Atwood and Cameron Atwood, both of Montrose, Colo.; one stepdaughter, Heather Mackie of Deloris, Colo.; four grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Thurman, and one brother. Her parents were Virgil “Cotton” Arlington and Virgie Grace “Gracie” Hutchison Hinson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz with the Revs. Terry Mitcheson and Scott Weber officiating. Burial will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
