MAYFIELD — R.G. “Jiggs” Parsons, 76, of Mayfield died Friday at his home.

He was the retired owner/operator of Parsons Motor Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Nichols Parsons; one son, Robert Parsons; one daughter, Traci Lee Parsons of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

His parents were Carlos M. Parsons and Ellen Choate Parsons Smith; his stepfather was Victor Smith.

A memorial visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Byrn Funeral Home.
