Cletus Eldon Martin, 88, of Luling, La., formerly of Paducah, died Aug. 22 at his home.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 and retired from Union Carbide Corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie Pauline Martin; one son, Jerry E. Martin; one daughter, Deborah M. de Vega Rafael; his sister, Betty Sue Jackson of Andover, Minn.; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his six brothers; his parents were Chester and Emma Martin.

Private services were held at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home followed by burial at Westlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
