James Ralph “Blue Eyes” Miller, age 84, of Lone Oak passed away at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Miller was a retired pipefitter and a 60-year member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 184. He was a 57-year member of the Southland Baptist Temple and a 58-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 449 F&AM. He was a U.S. Army veteran and also served in the National Guard.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Helen Guill Miller; his daughter, Kathy Miller Moss (Gary) of Paducah; two sons, Mark Miller (Kerre) of Paducah and Kevin Miller (Debbie) of Calvert City; one sister, Hazel Turnbow of Quincy, Ill.; two brothers, Bill Miller (Betty) of McHenry, Ill., and Bob Miller of Marion, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland L. Miller and Leona Inez Shannon Miller, and one sister, Betty Skinner.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Harold Council officiating. Entombment will follow.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Keeling Family Funeral Home. Masonic Rites by Paducah Lodge No. 449 will be held at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Youth Department of the Southland Baptist Temple, 927 Yarbo Lane, Paducah, KY 42003.
