FANCY FARM — John Pendel, 77, of Fancy Farm died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home.
He retired from General Tire and Rubber Company and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm.
Survivors include his two daughters, Janet Elliott of Fancy Farm and Sherry Gargus of Sedalia; one son, Andy Pendel of Fancy Farm; his mother, Maria Pendel of Fancy Farm; three sisters, Lydia Hobbs and Christy Goatley, both of Fancy Farm, and Pam Harrison of Murray; three brothers, Laddy Pendel of St. Charles, Mo, Leo Pendel of Dallas, and Ed Pendel of Fancy Farm; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosenell Pendel; his father, Adolf Pendel; two sons, Michael Pendel and Daniel Pendel; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm with Darrell Venters officiating. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Church Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at the church, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o St. Jerome Catholic Church, P.O.
